The LUSH LIFE Survival Guide to A Day at The Water Park!
Yesterday, I spent a great deal of time at Hawaiian Falls Water Park for my dad's birthday.
It was awesome fun but the sun, the heat, and the chlorinated water made great effort to take their tolls on my hair and skin. However, the elements were no match for a LUSH user like me.
I brought along a few LUSH lifesavers that kept me going, and utilized a few more afterward that helped me recover; these are their stories....[I watch too much SVU]
The Water Park Survival Kit:
I spritzed this refreshing toner water on my face while taking breaks from the water slides and the lazy river; it rejeuvenated my face and kept it clean and oil-free.
A minty, refreshing body spray to keep you cool and smelling clean when you're taking a break from the water.
3. Fair Trade Foot Lotion
This foot lotion kept my feet cool and soft in spite of the scorching-hot, rough concrete walkways at the water park!
4. Lip Service Lip Balm
This no-nonsense lip balm protected my lips from chapping under the hot sun!
The After-Fun Repair Kit:
You survived the day, now do some damage control on your sun-drenched body.
1. Eau Roma Water Toner
I accidentally got a little too sun-kissed during the trip, but a spritz of this toner water remedied the inflammation and soreness of my sunburn, quickly sweeping away that raw feeling on my skin.
2. Enchanted Eye Cream
This soothing eye cream really moisturized the dehydrated skin around my eyes and relieved some redness on my slightly burnt nose.
3. Sympathy For The Skin Hand and Body Lotion
Helps heal that damaged, sunburnt skin.
4. H'Suan Wen Hua Hair Mask
Give back the nutrients to your hair that all the chlorinated water took away.
5. Rehab Shampoo
Put your sun-dried hair into Rehab to clean out the chlorine while strengthening those tresses.
6. American Cream Double-Strength Conditioner
Moisturize and calm dry, fly-away hair with this super softening strawberry and vanilla conditioner.
7. Tramp Shower Gel
Did you receive a few too many kisses from good old Mr. Sunshine? Treat your sensitized skin with this ultra-soothing melissa and patchouli shower gel.
If you've just been on a day trip to the water park, or are planning one in the near future, take this list and head to your local LUSH shop or http://www.lushusa.com/ to prepare yourself for battle against the elements and/or fill up your LUSH stash with these products so you can repair any damage that does happen.
There should be more survival guides to come, but that's all for now!

LUSH LIFE On The Move!
So, after a short stint trying to live with some friends and be able to save money/afford food at the same time, I've moved back in with my dad because, while he's cabin-sitting for his awesome friends' lake cabin for several weeks at a time, I'll be house-sitting his house. So he'll be putting my rent money in a savings account for me each month while I'll be able to live on my own because, honestly, I cannot live with other people.
But, the point is, I've been moving! And I think we all know what that means; heavy boxes, heavy lifting, and tons of physical labor. For the past two days my back has been screaming at me, so I put LUSH effectiveness to the ultimate test.
I asked the question heard throughout LUSH stores, online forums and customer chat rooms everywhere:
Does the Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar actually work like a natural icy-hot to remedy sore muscles?
Allow me to kick things off by explaining what a massage bar is: LUSH invented massage bars as a "naked" (AKA packaging-free) solution to body lotion, which also makes getting (or giving!) massages an easier experience that just so happens to save the environment. They all have a base of shea and cocoa butters, along with their special blends of essential oils. The bars melt with your body temperature, so as you rub your skin with the bar, the oils and butters turn into a luxurious lotion.
The Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar, in particular, is a spicy massage bar that is known for being a pain reliever on sore, overworked muscles; it's said to work like a natural icy-hot. It's mix of cinnamon leaf oil, a spicy-smelling oil that warms up you muscles as you rub in the lotion, and peppermint oil, which cools muscles and relieves some of the swelling that causes pain. Plus, the aduki beans on the top feel like little massaging fingers that are blasting the knots out of your muscles.
Given that I live alone, I couldn't exactly demand someone give me a back rub so I gave one to myself. I rubbed the massage bar between my hands then rubbed my lower back, my shoulders, and my neck; just as the name implies, my pain went away like magic!
After rubbing the melted massage oils and butters into my skin my knots were untied, my kinks were loosened up, and the soreness was a mere memory (not to mention, my horrible grouchiness had gone away...hmph, interesting...)
I've used this massage bar more times than I can mention for tension headaches (use on the back of your neck, it's fab) and for the purely awesome cinnamon-mint smell, but I've never been able to test it out on sore muscles until now, and it was amazing.
The answer to the original question is The Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar is spectacular at relieving sore, tired muscles like a natural, moisturizing icy hot.
If you're a college kid moving into your first dorm, an athlete who goes through ice packs like a woodchuck through a small spruce tree, or a sufferer of arthritis, then this massage bar will be your little daily miracle.
Go pick it up at your local LUSH store or order it online at http://www.lush.com/ if you don't have a store near you.

LUSH LIFE Celebrates Christmas in July!
Hey LUSHies! Are you guys ready for Christmas 2011? I sure am! Today, I found myself thinking about the upcoming holidays at LUSH and how they're getting closer with every month! I just can't wait 'til the holidays so, to quench my thirst for LUSH Christmas products, I decided to revisit some of the lovely items I had stashed away from last winter.
Firstly, I started with a crumbling of the Christmas Eve bubble bar. This adorable purple bubble bar has a yellow crescent moon on top and a smattering of shimmery blue glitter. It's scented with a gorgeous jasmine and ylang ylang fragrance that helps calm your mind and take you to a relaxing state of bliss.
Then I dropped in a So White Bath Bomb (or two!) and watched as the fizzy little ballistic filled my tub with a crisp green apple scent. This bomb is my favorite from last winter. It's absolutely delightful!
I finished up by lathering a bit of the Iced Wine shower jelly all over myself. It's a deliciously fruity jelly soap that smells like absolute heaven! It's scented with fresh grape infusion, real iced wine, grapefruit oil, and bergamot oil. I seriously can't get enough of this jelly, thank goodness I bought 4 (count 'em, 4) big pots of it!

LUSH LIFE Loves Equality!
So, I haven't posted in a few days but I took a wonderful bath last night that I just have to share.
I used a couple of different LUSH products. The first, was the Freedom Foamer bubble bar. It's a limited edition bubble bar that LUSH sold a couple of weeks ago. It's green, it's glittery, and it's SUPER citrusy. 100% of the proceeds, yes I said 100% of the proceeds, from the sale of this bubble bar went to the Freedom To Marry organization which fights for the rights of gay couples to legally marry.
Anyways, back to the bubble bar. It looks like this:

Anyways, back to the bubble bar. It looks like this:
Isn't it adorable?
It's packed full of lime, lemon, and grapefruit oils to relax and revive your spirit. I crumbled a bit in the tub and as the water filled up, it turned bright green, which was awesome.
Secondly, I used the Fizzbanger bath ballistic. It's a LUSH staple; it's carried year-round in LUSH stores and online. It smell starts out with a hint of a green, citrusy, sweet apple scent, then transforms into a lovely cinnamon toffee scent. It has the signature scent from the B Never Too Busy to Be Beautiful Cosmetics perfume of the same name (B Never was a sister company to LUSH that has recently been closed), that was made by the LUSH founder, Mark Constantine. He says the scent reminds him of young French school girls, and I agree!
This is what the lovely bomb looks like:
Also adorable!
As you can see, the shell of the Fizzbanger is yellow, but it has a blue core inside which means that once the bomb starts fizzing away (and adding a bit of froth, thanks to ground up bits of bubble bar) it turns the water green! Which means that, with my already green Freedom Foamer water, this bath was a gorgeous shade of super green!
Not to mention, the smell was absolutely delectable. I went to the grocery store after my bath and a lady who walked by me told me I was the best smelling person she'd ever encountered. Being 100% honest, this is not the first time this has happened to me after I've started using LUSH products. I have very similar occurences at least twice a month. No joke.
Here's a picture from my awesome Freedom Fizzbanger bath:
I finished off the bath using the Happy Hippy shower gel, which turned out to be a wonderful edition to this symphony of scent. If you managed to nab a Freedom Foamer bubble bar, give this bath cocktail a try. If you weren't lucky enough to get your hands on one of those limited edition bubble bars, the Dorothy bubble bar also makes a nice companion to Fizzbanger.
Happy Bathing!

LUSH LIFE Loves Squishy Soaps!
Shower Jellies!!!!!
Big ones, small ones, purple ones, blue ones, glittery ones; I love shower jellies! "And just what is a shower jelly?" you might ask. Well let me tell you, good sir [or madame]!
A shower jelly is a squishy, squiggly shower soap that's super fun for anyone of any age to get clean with! Although they're jiggly like Jello, they contain no gelatin so they're vegan! [With exception to Whoosh (the blue one) which has honey water to balance out the citrus juices, which can be drying]
The jiggle is caused by a seaweed base, which helps soften your skin without clogging pores. You can also stick them in the freezer or fridge and they get cold, without freezing. The combination of a warm shower and a cold jelly is great for circulation. [Cold jellies are also a great cold compress. Just sayin']
Oh, Sweetie Pie. You smell of black cherry soda, you jiggle and shimmer. You make me a pretty princess with your smattering of glitter. Plus, an antioxidant cherry infusion keeps that shimmering skin in perfect condition. Girls, young and old alike, will always love this twinkly, purple shower jelly.
Whoosh doesn't let those deadlines rush by. It's cocktail of lemon, lime, and grapefruit juices wakes you up with a citrusy smack to the face. Lastly, a bit of honey water moisturizes your skin and locks it in for all-day softness. Makes for a perfect shower on those mornings where you just can't keep your eyes open.
I used the Whoosh today after I got home from work. I was hot (it's 105 degrees again) and tired and in desperate need of a shower. I grabbed my Whoosh from my freezer and jumped into the shower. There are two ways to use this wonderful little shower soap; you can pinch off a piece and smoosh it into a loofa, which makes it lather and be more bubbly, or you can hold it and use it like a bar of soap (a very slippery bar of soap, so hold on tight!) which yields less lather, but cleans just the same.
After sudsing up with this cold, jiggly shower buddy I felt refreshed, awake, and totally clean.
Want to get clean, smell great, and feel refreshed and soft?
Consider it done.
Stop by your local LUSH shop or order online at lush.com to nab one of these awesome little sudsy buddies.
Happy Showering!

LUSH LIFE In The Tub!
As you lovely readers will come to find, I spend a great deal of my time in the bathtub. Sure, I'm a busy-bee just as much as the next person, but I always make time for a relaxing bubble bath if I need it. After all, if we don't all allow ourselves a little zen time, we'd all lose our darn minds.
Anywho, I recently took a bubble bath that was so amazing that I just have to post about it. I used a few bath items from my favorite cosmetics company, LUSH Cosmetics. Everything is fresh, handmade, & organic and makes you feel & smell so good!
The products I used in my bath were what are considered 'Retro' items, which are products you can only purchase on the online store, http://www.lushusa.com/
I crumbled a little sliver of the Happy Bubble Bar in the tub before I turned the water on. It's adorably blue and it's scented with tangerine, neroli, and orange blossom oils, as well as a little sandalwood to balance. Once the tub was full, I turned on the jets and a thick, foamy layer of bubbles grew to epic proportions.
Secondly, I plopped the Sicilian Bath ballistic into the water. The Sicilian is a wonderfully fizzy little bath buddy who fills the tub up with a bit of baking soda to clean and a whole bunch of orange oil and actual orange. Once the bomb fizzes away, there's a slice of an actual orange left. It's a delightful reminder that LUSH uses real fruit and really does put the whole darn fruit in! This is, by far, my favorite LUSH ballistic in the whole wide world.
Lastly, the piece de resistance was a bit of Happy 4 SAD shower gel, which is a wonderful little purple shower gel filled with neroli oil to lift my spirits and aloe vera gel to soften & soothe my skin.
This bath was a relaxing & reviving citrus heaven; a welcome end to a very long & hot day in the Texas summer heat.
That's all for now, just thought I'd share this tidbit with you readers because I am so in love with this bath concoction.
Ok bai!
